Sustainable Development-- Meaning of Sustainable development, Carrying capacity and Eco tourism-Concept, Principles of Eco tourism, Eco tourism resources of India, Eco tourism guidelines for India- The Govt., operators, visitors, the environmental pledge.
Adventure tourism: Elements of Adventure, Classification of Adventure tourism- Aerial, Water based and Land based. .Aerial: Parachuting, Sky diving, Hang gliding/ Paragliding, Parasailing, Para Motoring, Air Safaris, Kite Boarding/ kite surfing Bungee jumping, Hot Air Ballooning. Water based: White water Rafting, Canoeing and Kayaking River Cruising, Scuba Diving, Snorkeling, Wind Surfing Land based: Mountaineering, Rock climbing, Trekking, Skiing, Motor rally, Safaris. Heli-skiing.
MICE industry (Business Tourism) - introduction, Mice components and definition. Players in industry (Conference centres, Corporate meeting planners, Independent meeting planners. Government meeting planners). Responsibilities of meeting planners, Infrastructure for MICE, Planning for MICE, MICE as a Supplement to Tourism, Bidding for MICE, Arrangements required – checklist for MICE components.
Wellness tourism – Tools for wellness: Factors influencing need for health and wellness tourism. Forms of health tourism- medical tourism, spa tourism, Ayurveda tourism, Yoga & Meditation tourism, holistic tourism, spiritual tourism, Ashram tourism. - Health, wellbeing and environment– Pleasing weather and climate – winter, summer and Health resorts
