Agenda

It is to inform all the students of semester 1^st UG (MTB, BBA-Aviation & Tourism Management and TAM (COSD) Students.) that an Orientation Programme will be organized on 7 August 2023 between 12-1 pm in Seminar room. Orientation session is being organized make the students aware on the following aspects of the department & academic activities:

Activity: Department Orientation Programme

Date & Time: 7 August 2023, 12-1 PM

Venue: Seminar Room IISU Campus.  

Details:  An Orientation Programme was organized for students of semester 1st UG (MTB, BBA-Aviation & Tourism Management and TAM (COSD) Students.) to divulge required knowledge about departmental & academic activities that will come about in the academic session 2023-24. Session was led by Dr. Deepika Singh (HOD) & Dr. Lokesh Sehgal. The orientation programme covered the following parameters:

• Faculty Profile
• Departmental Website   
• Time Table
• Location of the Department/Classes/Labs
• Departmental Activities/Calendar
• Structure of Course Curricula
• Subject-wise Credits
• Programme Outcomes
• Learning Outcomes
• Scheme of Examination (CA & SEE)
• Assessment and Evaluation Pattern
• Library System and Online Access

Further to make the session interactive for the students, a short quiz based on tourism destinations of India was conducted to test their knowledge about the same. At the end Google forms seeking feedback about above parameters got filled by students to estimate their learning about the same.

Orientation was successfully conducted by the department of Tourism & Aviation. The points mentioned in the agenda were covered and the student understood the same fairly well. A detailed report is attached with key points mentioned as under:

1. One of the students asked to provide clarity in terms of Assessment and Evaluation and same has been provided.
2. All the queries raised by students during the session were fairly resolved.
3. Remaining points related to agenda were fairly discussed and covered.  Department will look into making the transition of the students into the department smooth by guiding them further.
4. Orientation programmed conducted smoothly and there was no suggestion received.
5. Department further will look into making orientation programme more effective in the next upcoming session.
