Course Description: This course is designed to enable students to develop specialized knowledge and understanding within their chosen field of study through the completion of a dissertation project. Students will carry forward their research work from the synopsis prepared in the previous semester and complete the dissertation under the guidance of a supervisor. The course will cover various aspects of research methodology, data analysis, and interpretation, leading to the presentation and defense of their findings.

 

Course Outline:

Introduction to Dissertation Research

  • Introduction to the chosen topic and its relevance
  • Overview of selected industries/companies
  • Identification of research gap and significance of the study

Research Methodology

  • Introduction to research methodology
  • Review of literature including analysis of 15-20 research papers
  • Formulation of research problem, objectives, and hypotheses
  • Designing the research study including determination of universe/population, sample size, and data collection methods
  • Selection and application of tools for data analysis

Data Analysis and Interpretation

  • Conducting descriptive analysis of collected data
  • Testing research hypotheses using appropriate statistical techniques

Findings, Conclusion & Recommendations

  • Presentation and interpretation of research findings
  • Drawing conclusions based on data analysis
  • Providing recommendations for future research or practical applications

  2. Report should be of about 80-100 pages
  3. Each student will be required to make a presentation of her report to a panel of examiners for evaluation.

Submission guidelines:

  • Each student is required to mail a softcopy of her report in Word file along with PPT at dissertation2024mba427@gmail.com  and mark a copy to her respective Supervisor.
  • Two hardcopies of the report (Yellow hardbound, 1 coloured + 1 photocopy) along with a CD (Report+PPT) is to be submitted on the due date.

Evaluation Scheme for Semester End Exam (70%):

  1. Report: Students will submit a comprehensive dissertation report following the structure outlined in the course syllabus.
  2. Presentation: Students will deliver a presentation summarizing their research findings, methodology, and conclusions.
  3. Viva Voce: Students will undergo a viva voce examination conducted by a panel of examiners, focusing on their dissertation research and related topics.
