Definition & Concepts. Destination Life Cycle - Initiation, Growth and development of a destination. Typologies of Destination (Tourism) - Heritage and cultural destinations, Tourist city, Urban & Rural areas, Resorts, Coastal areas, protected areas.    

Introduction to important tourist circuits – Golden triangle, Green triangle, southern triangle

Planning and development of a destination:

Potential analysis, Cost –Benefit analysis, Environmental screening, Carrying Capacity, Environmental monitoring. Need for Planned Development, Planning Process.
