Tourism Destination:

Definition & Concepts. Destination Life Cycle - Initiation, Growth and development of a destination.

Typologies of Destination (Tourism) - Heritage and cultural destinations, Tourist city, Urban & Rural areas, Resorts, Coastal areas, Protected areas. Introduction to important tourist circuits – Golden triangle, Green triangle, southern triangle.

Planning and development of a destination:

Potential analysis, Cost –Benefit analysis, Environmental screening, Carrying Capacity, Environmental monitoring.

Need for Planned Development, Planning Process.

Case Study of Kerela (Gods Own Country) and Goa (Go Goa):

Introduction, natural, historical, cultural places of attraction at Kerela & Goa, famous attractions at Kerela and Goa, Revenue & cost, Tourism benefits, destination Marketing,  rewards & recognition etc.
